Criswell College’s Commitment

Criswell is committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming campus for all constituents of the College. In line with this commitment, the College does not tolerate sexual harassment in any form. This applies to all members of the College community, including trustees, 教师, 工作人员, 学生, 志愿者, 供应商, 和游客. The College has developed a policy, 程序, and resources for addressing instances of sexual harassment, including sexual violence.

What is Sexual Harassment?

第九条 of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in educational 项目 and activities. Sexual harassment is a form of sex-based discrimination prohibited by 第九条.

Sexual harassment includes any actions or words that produce a hostile work or learning environment. Sexual harassment can take different forms, including:

  • Verbal – Sexual innuendos, suggestive comments, jokes of a sexual nature, sexual propositions, 威胁, 等.
  • Non-verbal – Sexually suggestive objects or pictures, graphic commentaries, suggestive or insulting sounds, 抛媚眼, 吹口哨, 猥亵的手势, 等.
  • Physical – Unwanted physical contact, including touching, 捏, brushing the body, and/or coerced sexual intercourse or contact, 攻击, 等.

Sexual violence is a form of sexual harassment which includes conduct that is criminal. There are many types of sexual violence, including but not limited to:

  • 强奸
  • Sexual 攻击 or battery
  • 性胁迫
  • Unwanted touching
  • 约会暴力
  • 跟踪

We have trained 第九条 Coordinators and campus contacts who are available to help you if you experience or witness sexual harassment. Our 第九条 Coordinators are responsible for:

  • Overseeing all 第九条 complaints and investigations
  • Coordinating training, education, and communication pertaining to 第九条
  • Being available to meet with 学生 and employees to provide support and answer questions

We strongly encour年龄 you to notify us if you experience or witness sexual harassment. Even if you are unsure that what you have experienced or witnessed constitutes sexual harassment, we encour年龄 you to report it. 通知我们, please contact the College’s 第九条 coordinator or one of the designated campus contacts (listed below) who will put you in contact with our 第九条 coordinator.

If you report sexual harassment, we promise you that:

  • We’ll investigate all complaints in a prompt, fair, and impartial manner
  • We’ll take steps to prevent the recurrence of any further harassment
  • We’ll allow all parties involved to present witnesses and evidence
  • We’ll take steps to prevent retaliation against parties involved in an investigation
  • We’ll notify all parties of the outcome of the complaint
